Long before the Transformers: Age of Extinction made its debut in theatres last year, fans of the franchise have already been buzzing about the possibility of a Transformers 5. After the Age of Extinction became a blockbuster, that possibility turned into a guarantee and the excitement just reached a new high.

Michael Bay, the famous helmsman of the Transformers films, had publicly announced his desire to move on with other ventures outside the realm of Autobots and Decepticons. Rumored to be replacing him is his protégé, Jonathan Liebesman of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), but that news has neither been confirmed nor denied by the people behind the film.
With only Mark Wahlberg as the familiar face on board, many fans raised concern over the fate of the film. Along with it, came the call for a return of an original cast member, Megan Fox.
Fox had a highly publicized falling out with Bay during Transformers 3. And now that the director has been replaced, the Transformers 5 could be looking to bring her back in.
According to Movie Pilot, “If the Transformers 5 is looking for someone to keep the pedigree of the franchise alive, it might make sense for them to return to Megan Fox?”
Question is – how important is Fox to the Transformers franchise and vice versa?
She had a pretty clear message when pressed about the horrible critical receptions her past movies have made, “How much money did Transformers 4 make? Exactly. Those people can complain – they all go to the theatre. They’re gonna love it – and if they don’t love it, they can f— off, and that’s the end of that.”
What matters to the actress, the site infers, is how much gross the movie has. And with the strong following the Transformers franchise has and its previous box office records, there’s no doubt that the Transformers 5 would attain just as much as its predecessors, if not more, especially with her on board.
Right now, IF money is the whole point of making the yet-to-be-titled Transformers 5, then it doesn’t hurt for them to bring Megan Fox to make sure it doesn’t end up a flop.
